In late 2005, I was commissioned by Dan Schutte, Composer in Residence at the University of San Francisco and Director of Music for the Office of University Ministries. Universally known for his work "Here I Am, Lord", Dan has been composing music for Christian worship for more than thirty years. Dan wanted a guitar similar to his early 70's Martin DS-28, short-neck, slope-shouldered dreadnought. The instrument I delivered to him in 2006 is of our combined design efforts, with a German spruce top and Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. The rosette is a sunburst of rosewood, with abalone inlay. The headstock has a custom abalone insert, requested by Dan. Click the Testimonials link to read Dan's comments.

The following instrument is a dreadnought with a Sitka spruce bearclaw top and Australian Lacewood back and sides, commissioned in 2007 by Frank Winterling. The rosette is a sunburst of lacewood, accented with abalone inlay. Click the Testimonials link to read Frank's comments.
